You can search the landscape by substructure with the structure filter in the upper right corner of the screen. This can show you how many molecules for that substructure exist, as well as their source (patents or literature), assignees, and area. Substructure searches can help you avoid the IP of others and understand the structure activity relationships for a chemical series.
When you click the substructure diagram in the upper right of the screen, you will launch the Structure Editor in an overlaid window. The Structure Editor allows you draw, erase, and combine structures, then search the molecular landscape to see which molecules contain the core you’ve entered.
