What do the colors and shapes mean in the landscape?

Colored shapes are those from IP publications, with each color representing a different assignee, or company, that developed the molecule. Different shapes in each color represent a different patent family. White shapes are those extracted from scientific literature. Similar compounds are grouped together; when you see different colored shapes near each other, this means multiple companies are working on similar molecules.
